# AI Friendly Pact

> An open advocacy pact: we call on every product and business website to become AI-friendly — providing llms.txt, structured data, and semantic HTML so large language models and AI agents read your content accurately and fairly.

## Manifesto

We are entering an era where AI — conversational assistants, AI search, and autonomous agents — is becoming a primary entry point for finding, understanding, and purchasing products and services. Yet most websites are not designed to be read by machines. They hide key information in images, JavaScript, or unstructured text, and as a result AI either misunderstands them or ignores them entirely.

The AI Friendly Pact is our answer: a set of open, verifiable rules any site can adopt. By following it, you make your website visible, understandable, and useful to AI — on fair and transparent terms.

## The 8 Protocol Rules

1. **Publish llms.txt and llms-full.txt** — Provide a machine-readable index and full text of your site at /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt.
2. **Correct robots.txt directives** — Allow mainstream AI crawlers reasonable access while blocking what you do not want crawled.
3. **A complete, locale-aware sitemap.xml** — Ensure every public page is indexed, with multi-language alternates.
4. **Structured data (JSON-LD / schema.org)** — Express your organization, products, pricing and FAQs as machine-readable facts.
5. **Semantic HTML** — Use correct tags and heading hierarchy so content structure is obvious.
6. **Correct language declaration and meta tags** — Declare html lang and provide complete meta / Open Graph tags.
7. **Content accessibility** — Keep key information obtainable by plain-text extraction, without images or scripts.
8. **Make it callable by AI agents (advanced)** — Provide structured descriptions of your public interfaces.
